Video: New clock tower offers sweeping views of Kalba

A new tourist landmark has opened in Kalba, which features a clock tower offering stunning views of the town.

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the Clock Tower Square located at the intersection of Al Wahda Street and Corniche Street.

The 60 metre-tall clock tower has two viewing decks - one at a height of 33 metres, which also features a restaurant, while the other viewing platform is at 46 metres above the ground.

The tower's design is inspired by modern Islamic decorations, and it has a spacious dome covered with gilded mosaic.

The entire square spans an area of 2,100 sq.m. and there are 940 parking spaces along the Corniche Street to serve visitors.
