The UAE's Amdjarass-based field hospital in Chad has treated 1,220 Sudanese refugees since it opened on July 9.
The hospital said it has treated over 1,000 patients with internal issues, dealt with 104 surgical and 65 orthopaedic cases, and also performed 10 operations.
It is also currently treating 10 in-patients.
The hospital, which focuses on women, children, the elderly, and those with chronic diseases, was established as part of the UAE’s humanitarian aid programme to support those affected by the conflict in Sudan.
It is also in line with the UAE’s efforts to help Chad cope with the influx of refugees.
Since the beginning of the conflict in April, the UAE has operated an air and sea bridge, transporting nearly 2,000 tonnes of medical, food and relief materials to Port Sudan.
The UAE has welcomed the formation of the new Syrian government, and affirmed its support for the Syrian people’s aspirations towards achieving stability and prosperity.
