UAE President outlines green vision on National Environment Day

The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has affirmed the country’s commitment to sustainability by advancing innovative solutions.

His message coincides with the 26th UAE National Environment Day on February 4.

Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE is committed to advancing innovative solutions to benefit current and future generations.

He added that the efforts will continue at COP28, as the UAE invites the world to "come together in pursuit of a more sustainable future."

Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, said that celebrating the 26th UAE National Environment Day is an occasion that enhances efforts to preserve natural resources, their ecosystems and their biological diversity.

She added that this year's slogan, “Towards a Sustainable Future”, which coincides with the Year of Sustainability, underscores the need to find sustainable practical solutions to climate and environmental challenges.

The minister also emphasised the importance of doubling efforts to reduce emissions, adapting and adopting the latest technology, as well as working on adapting to the repercussions of climate change through a realistic and comprehensive methodology that focuses on devising practical solutions and preserving the balance of natural life.
