UAE land border crossings to welcome travellers from Oman

Authorities in the UAE have announced the protocols for travellers from Oman entering via land border checkpoints from September 1.

The rules have been drawn up by the General Authority of Ports, Borders and Free Zones Security in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).

  • All those coming from the Sultanate will be required to present a negative PCR test result, conducted no more than 48 hours before the date of arrival, in addition to undertaking a rapid nasal PCR swab upon arrival (inside the vehicle).
  • Travellers staying for four consecutive days or more will have to take a PCR test on day four of entry, in addition to another PCR test on day eight if they stay for eight consecutive days or more.
  • Authorities have underlined the importance of complying with all precautionary measures, including wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and sanitising luggage.
  • Those suffering from chronic diseases and individuals with COVID-19 symptoms are advised not to travel.
