The UAE joined the Call for Action for Palestinian children in the West Bank and Gaza where it called the repercussions on children "devastating" and "heartbreaking" and called for an immediate ceasefire.

Taking to platform X, the UAE Mission to the UN said: "One of the most devastating repercussions of the war on Gaza is the heartbreaking impact it has on Palestinian children.

"Today, the UAE joined the Call for Action for Palestinian children in the West Bank & Gaza. With relentless bombardment, a looming famine, and the near total disruption of schools and public services, a whole new generation is at risk. We need an immediate ceasefire."

The UAE called for urgent assistance to the children of Gaza and the West Bank with five action points.

The first being an immediate ceasefire, the second being respecting international law, including international human rights law and humanitarian law.

The nation called for the immediate and safe release of all detained children and hostages. In additional the UAE stressed the need for unrestricted humanitarian access within the Gaza strip and West Bank.

The fifth call was a pledge to support scaled-up, UN-coordinated humanitarian response to the Palestinian children in Gaza and the West Bank.
