His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, participated in a significant aid collection event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on Tuesday.

This initiative, part of the ongoing "UAE Stands with Lebanon" campaign, successfully gathered 150 tonnes of food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to support the people of Lebanon.

The event marked the second major aid drive in Abu Dhabi within two weeks, attracting around 2,287 volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

Alongside Sheikh Hamdan, notable attendees included his children: Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence; and Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, among other dignitaries.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the unity and institutional coordination that characterized the campaign, emphasising the Emirati community's cohesive response to humanitarian needs.

He stated, "This campaign reflects the spirit of brotherhood and human values in aiding those in distress."

Launched on October 8, 2024, under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the campaign has seen significant success, amassing a total of 1,100 tonnes of aid by its conclusion.

This includes the delivery of 13 relief flights to Lebanon, transporting approximately 560 tonnes of essential supplies aimed at supporting vulnerable populations, including women and children.
