The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has called on private sector companies to apply flexible working patterns on Monday.

"Necessary measures need to be taken by companies to ensure outdoor work, if necessary to resume, complies with the occupational health and safety requirements. Companies also need to ensure the health and safety of workers commuting to and from outdoor work locations," the ministry said in a statement.

All government public schools will conduct their classes remotely on Monday due to the current weather conditions, while it will be a remote working day for all federal government employees, the UAE Cabinet announced on Sunday.

There will be exceptions for those working in positions requiring a physical presence at the workplace.

It was announced on Saturday that Monday will be a remote working day for employees of all Dubai government entities, in a directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The Ministry of Education said that Monday will be a distance learning day in all federal higher education institutions. It also said that private universities have the right to assess the situation according to regions and circumstances, taking into account the interests of students and study requirements.

Meanwhile Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has advised schools to be flexible in offering remote learning, due to the wet weather. It has suggested schools, nurseries and universities should consider the needs of parents, staff and students and provide the option of distance learning.
