UAE and other Gulf states must prioritise more efficient energy use, says new ICAEW report

Despite recent improvements and initiatives, the UAE and other GCC countries’ energy efficiency remains low compared to global benchmarks. That’s according to the latest report by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, (ICAEW) which says the current prices of fuel and utilities continue to pose barriers. There are also calls for greater efforts to limit wasteful consumption by households and businesses. ICAEW’s Regional Director Michael Armstrong explains.
