UAE airlines cancel flights to Brussels

Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways have cancelled scheduled flights amid strike in Belgium.

An Emirates spokesperson told ARN: “Emirates flights to and from Brussels on 13 February have been cancelled due to industrial action in Belgium. Affected passengers should contact their travel agents or Emirates Reservations for rebooking options. Emirates apologises for any inconvenience cause to passengers.”

Belgium has closed its airspace for 24 hours during a nationwide strike.

Three trade unions have called for the move following a dispute over wage growth, which has been limited to 0.8 per cent for the next two years.

The UAE airlines announced on their official websites that the scheduled flights to Brussels on Wednesday stand cancelled.
