‘Smart' bus shelters launched in Dubai

Bus shelters across the emirates will be converted into one-stop shops by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Each air conditioned ‘Smart Shelter’ will have free WIFI, a mobile charging station, a snack counter, a smart kiosk and a screen that displays real time information on buses’ locations. The RTA is rolling out 100 shelters across Dubai, with 50 to be ready by the end of December, and the other 50 to be made available by the end of January 2016. The Head of Buses at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, Engr. Mohamed Al Ali tells ARN News what the smart kiosks can do.
