Sheikh Sultan launches project to revive 400-year-old town

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has launched a project to revive the 400-year-old town of Al Hira in the Emirate.

His Highness inaugurated the project by unveiling the memorial that commemorates the founding of the town in 1613 AD upon the arrival of the Al Qawasim clan.

The Sharjah Ruler opened the house of Sultan bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Owais, which will be Al Hira Literary Majlis, and the houses of Hamid Khalaf Bu Khasrah and Khalifa Sultan Al Suwaidi to be revived.

He also announced the opening of the rebuilt Sultan bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Owais Mosque.
