A biker has been arrested in Dubai and his motorcycle seized after he was caught dangerously speeding at 280 km/h.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said a search team was set up after a video of the rider capturing his own stunts went viral online.
He added that the biker "confessed to committing such acts on multiple occasions" during interrogation.
Al Mazroui warned that those caught indulging in stunts that endanger their own lives and those of others, will be "summoned, their bikes confiscated and face legal actions".
The bike has been impounded and the owner has been ordered to pay a fine of AED 50,000 to get it released.
Al Mazroui urged the public to alert the authority by reporting such incidents through the Dubai Police app or by dialing 901.
