There is no truth to reports about amnesty being offered to UAE residency visa violators in Sharjah.
That's according to the Sharjah Police, which issued a clarification after social media reports claimed that visa violators could amend their illegal status for a small fee via service centres in the Emirate.
They added that the issue came to light after "a large number of Asian workers" rushed to inquire whether the online reports were true.
The authority also warned the public against sharing information that's unverified by official sources, adding it's a crime punishable by law.
