Sharjah has introduced new rules for private social events and wedding receptions in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.

As per the latest measures, the number of people allowed for such gatherings has been capped at 20.

Only four people are allowed at each table, which must be spaced four metres apart.

The duration of the ceremony should not exceed four hours, with no live entertainment.

Everyone must wear masks at all times and avoid physical contact and greetings, including hugging and shaking hands.

The rules are applicable to events held at homes and also at suburban councils.
