A blended learning programme would be the best option for higher educational institutions when they reopen for the next academic year.

That's according to the Ministry of Education, which has recommended a combination of distance and classroom learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This came during a virtual meeting to discuss the operational plans for universities and other higher educational institutions.

Officials said priority should be for remote lectures, and campus attendance should be limited to staff and students for research, clinical training or examination purposes.

They have also called on institutions to implement the necessary precautionary measures, and to share their feedback and updates on a regular basis.
