Flash floods kill elderly man in Ras Al Khaimah

An Emirati man in his 70s died on Tuesday morning when his vehicle was caught in flash floods in Ras Al Khaimah.

According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, his car was swept away by strong currents as he attempted to drive through Wadi Isfani, in the south of the emirate, following heavy overnight rain.

Police were able to retrieve the body and expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

Authorities urged the public to avoid areas prone to flooding, such as valleys, and stay home in bad weather unless absolutely essential.
