The UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation continues to host public forums to raise awareness about the secure and peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Abu Dhabi is the latest stop where residents have been briefed about nuclear safety, radioactive waste management, as well as employment opportunities within the nuclear sector. Similar sessions have already been held in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al Ain and the Western Region. The first of four planned nuclear reactors in Abu Dhabi’s Barakah region is scheduled to start operating in 2017.
