In the first half of this year, Dubai's mounted police carried out 732 patrols across various commercial areas, industrial zones and tourist spots.

Their efforts led to the arrest of several wanted individuals and the seizure of vehicles involved in criminal activity or were sought for other issues. A total of 107 traffic fines were also handed out by these horseback patrol units.

Mounted patrols have proven especially effective in capturing suspects in areas that vehicle patrols can't reach, such as narrow alleys.

In addition to these patrols, the Dubai Mounted Police Station also performs checks on suspicious individuals and vehicles, secures sports facilities, and provides training for both new recruits and seasoned riders.

They also offer therapeutic riding programmes for individuals with special needs.

The station is equipped with 122 highly trained horses, all monitored by a team of veterinarians and nurses to ensure their optimal health and fitness.

"Mounted patrols have become an essential component of Dubai's security operations, ensuring residents' peace of mind. With their traditional character, the patrols navigate the emirate's streets, promoting a sense of security and safety among the community," said Expert Major General Dr. Muhammad Issa Al Adhib, Director of the Mounted Police Station.
