Dubai tourist thanks man who saved his life

ARN News

It was an emotional moment when Dubai tourist Peter reconnected with the good Samaritan, who had stepped forward to save his life, at Dubai Eye 103.8's studio on Wednesday morning.

Peter, accompanied by his wife Karin, thanked Dubai resident John Ashcroft, who was on the phone in the UK, for saving his life.

The couple had launched a social media campaign to find John as they felt they were unable to thank him properly for removing an obstruction from Peter's throat by performing a combination of CPR and the Heimlich manoeuvre at a pharmacy a few days ago.

ARN News had teamed up with Dubai Eye 103.8's Agenda to find John.

Speaking exclusively to ARN News earlier, John said he didn't think of himself as a hero.
