The stage is set for the sixth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge, set to be the most extensive since its debut in 2019.

Hosted by Dubai Police, the event will bring together 114 elite teams from 48 countries for an exciting showcase of skill, strategy and stamina.

The competition kicks off on February 1, at the Al Ruwayyah Training City.

This year’s challenge is historic, with teams from eight countries competing for the first time, along with five women’s teams and six new entries from police colleges and academies.

With a total prize pool of $260,000, the event promises intense competition, live broadcasts, and global media coverage.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Wednesday at the Dubai Police Officers Club, highlighting the growing popularity of the event.

Participation has surged over the years, with 2024 seeing 73 teams, 2023 with 55, and 2022 featuring 34 teams. The inaugural global edition in 2019 had 61 teams, making this year’s record-breaking 114 teams a major milestone.

The competition will test participants across five demanding events:

  • Tactical Challenge
  • Assault Challenge
  • Officer Rescue Competition
  • Tower Challenge
  • Obstacle Course Challenge

Each challenge requires exceptional tactical prowess, physical endurance and teamwork. Points will be awarded daily, with the top three teams celebrated each evening.

The grand finale will honour the overall champions who earn the highest cumulative scores.

Organizers also announced a new Mountain Bike Competition, set to take place on January 31 at the Al Ruwayyah Training City.

The optional race features a 1.35 km winding track leading to a target shooting zone, concluding at the finish line. Participating teams will be eligible for cash prizes.
