A philanthropist has paid for the flight tickets of 23 inmates in Dubai.

According to Dubai Police's Correctional and Punitive Establishments, he also granted them a set amount of money to help them start a new chapter in their lives.

This comes as part of the police force's "Your Return is a Duty" initiative, which facilitates the return of inmates to their home countries after they've served their sentences.

Officials said that the campaign reflects Emirati people's values of giving, tolerance and charity.
