Dubai Police arrests motorist for driving 220 km/h

Dubai Police have arrested a motorist for speeding at 220 km/h on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road. The driver's car has been impounded.

Posting on social media the Dubai Police said: "The General Department of Traffic @DubaiPoliceHQ has apprehended a driver for speeding at 220 km/h on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road, endangering both his safety and other road users. The motorist has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings."

According to the provision of Decree 30 of 2023 Concerning Impoundment of Vehicles a AED 50,000 fine is imposed on the impounded vehicle.
