The Paediatric Surgery Service at Latifa Hospital for Women and Children has been transferred to Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital.

According to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the move aims to provide specialised paediatric services to children under one roof.

It will also help Latifa Hospital focus on further developing and expanding its obstetrics and gynaecological care - its core area of expertise.

The decision was taken after detailed studies from specialists and experts in the field as well as after findings from both hospitals which concluded that the integration would help make the best use of the equipment and techniques available at both facilities.

There will be no changes in health insurance or any other procedures to ensure smooth implementation of the process as well as to provide high-quality care and convenience.

The DHA had signed an MoU with Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital in April this year to exchange expertise and to collaborate in specialised paediatric medical fields.
