Researchers in Abu Dhabi have developed a new mathematical system to track the spread of COVID-19 in the emirate.
It will help authorities take preemptive measures and allocate resources by predicting outbreaks in specific areas.
The programme, developed by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and the UAE University, uses a special algorithm to create virtual maps of locations with high rates of infections.
It also takes into account data on the movement of individuals as well as their location, age and health status.
Officials say the new tool will help them stay ahead of the curve by ensuring the readiness of their workforce.
