Misbah-ul-Haq is Pakistan's new head coach, chief selector

Former cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been named as Pakistan's new head coach and chief selector.

In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said he would take on the role across all three formats on a three-year contract.

Meanwhile, Waqar Younis has been named as the team's new bowling coach.

Their first assignment will be a limited over series at home against Sri Lanka, which gets underway on September 27.

Misbah-ul-Haq played 75 test matches for Pakistan, scoring 10 centuries.
