Conor McGregor has returned to the octagon in style at UFC 246, as he beat American Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds.

The referee stepped in and waved off the contest inside a minute after a series of blows from McGregor.

The 31-year-old Irishman had not won inside the UFC's octagon since clinching his second UFC world title in 2016.

McGregor picks up the win after an extended time away from the ring. He took almost a year-and-a-half off after his fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.
