Atletico Madrid agree AED 377m with Man City for Alvarez

Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid after the two clubs agreed a deal worth AED 377 million (£81.5m).

Alvarez has been waiting to make a decision on his future until after Argentina's Olympic run, and after the World Cup holders were knocked out by France last Friday, the forward has seemingly made up his mind to leave the Premier League champions.

The forward is in talks with Madrid over personal terms but the transfer is expected to go through, which will make it the biggest deal for a City player since the sale of Raheem Sterling to Chelsea in 2022 for  AED 233 million (£50m).

Alvarez has scored 36 goals in 106 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side.

Meanwhile, Atletico have also agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign midfielder Conor Gallagher.
