Al Ain Football Club has officially announced the departure of Argentine coach Hernan Crespo and his technical staff following a series of poor results this season.

The decision was made after a meeting of the club’s Board of Directors, which reached an agreement with Crespo and his team to terminate their contracts.

In an official statement, Al Ain FC expressed appreciation for Crespo's professionalism and the contributions his staff made during their time with the team.

The club highlighted their role in helping Al Ain achieve significant success in Asian competitions but acknowledged that the recent run of results had not met the club's high expectations.

"The outcome of this season was not in line with our ambitions," the club said in a statement. "While we thank Coach Crespo and his technical staff for their efforts and professionalism, the recent performances have fallen short of what we believe this team is capable of."

Crespo, who took over as head coach at the beginning of the season, faced mounting pressure as Al Ain struggled to maintain its competitive form in both domestic and regional competitions.

Under his leadership, the team had hoped to build on past successes, but inconsistent performances left the club with little choice but to make a change.

The timing of the announcement has left many fans and observers questioning who will step in to fill the void left by Crespo.

Al Ain FC, one of the most successful clubs in the UAE Pro League, will be keen to appoint a new coach capable of restoring the team’s form and meeting its high expectations for the remainder of the season.

Crespo's departure comes as the club, traditionally a powerhouse in Emirati football, aims to reassess its strategy moving forward. The focus will likely now shift to finding a replacement who can improve results quickly, given the high expectations surrounding the team.

Al Ain’s next steps will be crucial, as they look to bounce back from a challenging start to the season and reclaim their place at the top of UAE football.
