Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have announced they are set to step back from their royal duties.

In a statement posted to the couple's Sussex Royals Instagram, they said they have decided to "step back" as "senior members of the Royal Family", but remained committed to "supporting" Queen Elizabeth II.

The couple - who have an eight-month-old son Archie - will be splitting their time between the UK and Meghan's native America, as they hope to still be able to raise their son to "appreciate royal tradition".

The couple - who wed in 2018 - closed their message by thanking their fans for their "continued support".

They said: "We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support."
