Oasis ditch dynamic pricing for North America gigs

British band Oasis have confirmed they will not be using dynamic pricing on tickets for their upcoming gigs in North America.

In a post on Instagram, the band's management said: "Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.

"It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable.

"But, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.

"We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently."

Fans in the UK were left unhappy after the dynamic pricing system raised ticket prices from £150 (AED 730) to £350 (AED 1720).

On Monday the band announced new tour dates in Canada, Mexico and the US. Noel and Liam Gallaghter will play the Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Canada, on August 24. Followed by Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, on August 28, the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 31 and the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on September 6.

They will then play in Mexico at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Mexico, on September 12.
