Dubai has launched an all-electric lorry that can carry up to 44 tonnes with a range of 300 km.
Built by Volvo, it’s expected to hit the UAE’s roads within the next month and be used for regional or city-to-city transport.
However, the charging time means it's likely drivers would have to leave it charging overnight to run on a fully powered battery.
The new launch is a positive step and opens the door for more electric technology, especially as the UAE is pushing to reach the net zero 2050 target across all sectors, especially on the mobility front.
The UAE is ranked eighth globally in terms of readiness for electric mobility.
