Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is set to become the first utility provider in the world to use ChatGPT.

The government entity said it's working to enhance its services with the new technology, supported by Microsoft.

This will also make DEWA the first UAE government entity to use ChatGPT.

It intends to provide the technology through Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC), a subsidiary of Digital DEWA.

The aim is to provide services supported by this technology and employ it in serving customers and employees.

The announcement was made as Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA met with Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE.

"Our collaboration with Microsoft is a translation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to benefit from digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence to improve performance and enhance people's lives," said Al Tayer.

Earlier this week, the UAE cabinet called for a study on the potential benefits of new A.I. technologies such as ChatGPT for government work, and its impact on education, health, media and other sectors.

ChatGPT, which uses A.I. and smart algorithms, is distinguished by its superior ability to interact with users through dialogue, in addition to its advanced ability to learn and understand their needs and queries.

It is also capable of writing programming codes and solving coding problems, in addition to its ability to create different scenarios.
