Movie of the week – Whatever Works

Whatever Works is a 2009 comedy, written and directed by Woody Allen, starring Larry David, Evan Rachel Wood and Patricia Clarkson.

It’s about an eccentric New Yorker, played by Larry David, who abandons his upper class life to lead a more bohemian existence.

Attempting to impress his ideologies on religion, relationships, and the randomness (and worthlessness) of existence, he rants to anyone who will listen, including the audience.

When it comes to love, “whatever works” is his motto.

The film was shot in New York City, marking Allen’s return to his native city after shooting four films in Europe.

If you are a fan of Woody Allen and the TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm, then this might just be the movie for you.

Win tickets to see it daily on the midday show between 11am and 12pm at any Grand Cinemas in the U.A.E.
