UAE spending on travel and tourism up 4.5 per cent in 2017
Total spending in the UAE’s travel and tourism sector is predicted to increase by 4.5 per cent year-on-year in 2017, to reach over AED154 billion.
That’s according to a recent analysis by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, using data from Business Monitor International and the World Travel and Tourism Council.
The report also found that spending within the industry is expected to rise steadily over the next five years and hit AED205 billion in 2022.
Growth within the emirates’ travel market will likely be supported by mega-projects such as Marsa Al Arab, and a number of theme parks, malls and cultural venues.
