UAE President issues new law regulating mosque activities
Organising religious gatherings and lectures in mosques without prior permission has been prohibited under a new federal decree.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayan has issued the law, which applies to all mosques, Eid musallas as well as public and private prayer spaces in the UAE.
As per the legislation, collecting donations, supplying food, distributing books and holding Quran memorisation activities outside mosques require the approval of the authorities.
It also specifies the conditions to be followed while recruiting mosque employees.
