Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid opens ‘Area 2071’
An interactive platform for futuristic technology companies and start-ups has opened in Dubai.
‘Area 2071’ is billed as an open lab to develop and share ideas aimed at unifying the UAE’s efforts to tackling future challenges.
The space at Emirates Towers will also bring together entrepreneurs, SMEs as well as government programmes such as Dubai’s Future Accelerators under one roof.
‘Area 2071’ is named after the UAE’s Centennial Vision 2071, the government’s long-term plan that marks 100 years since the establishment of the country.
While inaugurating the zone, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, termed it as a “bridge to the future, and a platform to implement the UAE’s model for future design”.
