Gorillaz are a virtual band that was created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Blur fame and Jamie Hewlett, who created the comic book Tank Girl.
The band is composed of four animated band members.
Their debut album was released in 2001 and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band.
Plastic Beach is their third studio album and was released on March 3rd 2010.
It features guest appearances by several artists, including Bobby Womack, Little Dragon, Mos Def, Lou Reed and Mick Jones, just to name a few.
