FANTASIA – BACK TO ME

Who?
FANTASIA Back To Me

Third album from the American Idol alum (same year as Jennifer Hudson). Kind of a ‘comeback’ album after doing theatre and reality TV in the US for a while.

What?
With writing collaborations from people like NEYO and Claude Kelly (who’s penned hits for Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis) added after an initial single way back in February failed to set the charts on fire, Fantasia has got an album that is the usual soul, gospel, yet contemporary ‘r&B’ sound. However, it’s her voice that lifts it above the ‘normal’. Distinctive, strong and full of passion and character. She brings each song to life in a gritty way that mightn’t have been there if sung by someone else.

Verdict?
It’s being seen as a comeback because she’s been working on other projects since her last album. And this body of work is much stronger and sets Fantasia up as a class act again amongst her peers.
