Injured Yemeni girl evacuated to UAE for treatment
A three-year-old girl from Yemen has been flown to the UAE to receive further medical treatment after being severely injured in an attack by the Houthi militia.
Sumaiya Sadaan Hassan sustained wounds to her abdomen when mortar shell fire hit her house.
An Emirati Advanced Surgical Team worked with Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces to perform a four-hour operation to remove shrapnel and treat her injuries.
Sumaiya was flown to Abu Dhabi after her condition stabilised, on the instructions of the UAE leadership, to complete her recovery and to receive help in her psychological rehabilitation.
