Eid Al Fitr announced in the UAE

Friday will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE and the first day of the month of Shawwal, according to the country’s official moon-sighting committee.

The announcement came after the committee held a meeting after Maghrib prayers at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department on Thursday, the 29th day of Ramadan.

This means the Eid Al Fitr holiday for the public sector will conclude on Sunday, June 17, with work resuming on Monday, June 18.

The private sector will have the first two days of Eid off – Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, – with work resuming on Sunday, June 17.

Sharjah – 5.44am
Ras Al Khaimah – 5.41am
Fujairah – 5.39am
