THE HIGHEST BREAKFAST IN THE WORLD… PROBABLY!

Earlier today, Geordiebird and I became two of the first members of the public to go up the Burj Khalifa. No, that’s not a euphemism. We actually did it! Apart from a bit of queue-mismanagement at the beginning (it’s Dubai, after all), the whole experience was fab! Don’t miss out on it. It’s worth every penny. Wait for a clear day. One of those days when you can see definition in the skyline from a distance, then get the camera batteries charged and get your tickets.

Here’s our “World’s Highest Podcast”…

Listen!

And here are some photos I snapped up there today…

First of all, the view towards the Sheik Zayed Road skyline, with Zabeel Palace in the top right and Dubai Mall in the bottom right.

The white building, for those not in the know, is The Address, with Souk Al Bahar (where we were last night) and Old Town in the centre. I can’t help but wonder how annoying it would be to live in The Address when people asked you for your address.

This is the view looking straight down. Obviously I took this one one a fast shutter speed as I was shaking like a sh(comment removed).

Another one looking over the edge. Look at those windows. They must’ve gone mad with the Windex. Beautiful!

Looking out towards Dubai’s coastline, with Sheik Zayed Road and the new Dubai Mall Metro Station below. Looks tiny from this height.

Dubai Mall looks like an architect’s model. From this high you can barely hear husbands crying at the price of their wives’ high heels.

Dramatic skies looking east towards Nad Al Sheba.
