I’ll start this post by letting you in on a little secret. I am the healthiest person I know. I am never ill! I watch the revolving door of colds and stomach bugs turn at work and feel superior that my immune system is never off duty. That is, until today.
My symptoms:- Sore throat / Temperature / Hungry but can’t swallow / Snappy (not a ‘new’ symptom)
Because I’m never ill, I know that when I am, it’s serious.
Possible illnesses include: Tonsilitis / Flu / Glandular fever
I have used the internet for research and self diagnosis (thank goodness for the internet huh?)
The following complications could arise: A secondary infection may occur in my sinuses or chest /I could get a rash and then Scarlet fever / A saucy little throat abscess could pop in for a visit and if I’m really unlucky I’m looking at kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) – I think it’s this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However bad it gets though I vow to struggle on because I have a reputation to uphold as the girl who doesn’t take time off sick. I hold the record of the least number of sick days taken in 4 years (two) at Dubai 92 and it’s a record I don’t intend to lose overnight! Oh and I’ll continue to thank my lucky stars that this didn’t happen on Hot 100 party week.
It’s difficult to track down the culprit who gave this to me. I’ve been through the diary and bearing in mind there is a four day incubation period the guilt lies with one of seven. You know who you are (Tom, Rod, Nathalie, Catboy, Client who’s booked us for a party in March, Dubai’s no.1 photographer and Brand Manager Louise). I’ll leave it there. But know this – the investigation isn’t over and when I find you I’m throwing it right back at ya….Boom!
Right - I’m off to see if there’s a way I can eat fish and chips painlessly.
