There’s also a tiny sticky tab just below the cutting bar to stick the end of the cling film to, so you don’t lose the end!
Have known this for years and I constantly get annoyed when I’m in peoples kitchens helping to clear up and I see that they don’t use the tabs! I guess what they say is true… “Common sense is not common”
Flippin’ Heck…….I’m 50 and I didn’t know. I’ve just pushed in all the lugs on my tube boxes (all 2 of them) and it works! To think of all the wasted years of struggle. Thank you Catboy.

Hey CB, Have known about this for more than ½ my life. Did you know there is also a cutting bar on most boxes and the real fancy ones have a sticker about ½ a metre from the end to tell u that u have just abour run out.
I’m not faking! It’s fine, but they don’t work too well for the large cling film rolls as they can be too heavy for the cardboard lugs.
…somewhere, there’s a guy living in a 10 bedroom mansion with 3 Ferraris and a 250m yacht, who has the patent for “cardboard lugs for the purpose of retaining tubes in a box”.

Well, I’m 48 and never knew that. I just tried it on my alfoil roll and it worked!
