Watched the Emmys yesterday. It as about three hours long, so it took up the best part of my day but I’m a glutton for award shows. Jimmy Fallon did a great job presenting. Here’s my Top Five Emmy Highlights…
1. In Memoriam (always my favourite bit of any glitzy showbiz awards. Gotta love grief porn!)
2. Jimmy Fallon’s opening song (see video below. Glee, Betty White, Tina Fey and more!)
3. Ricky Gervais (not his best awards work but still head and shoulders above anyone else.)
4. Modern Family winning a bunch of awards (probably the best comedy on TV at the moment. Well deserved.)
5. Al Pacino praising Dr Jack Kevorkian (how tall is Pacino, anyway? Looks about 4′6″.)
Today’s PHRASE OF THE DAY on the show is GIRLFRIEND-PROOFING: The ritual every man must go through before inviting a girl to his house for the first time. Basically hiding any trace of the depraved, lazy, console-loving, pizza-eating, Megan Fox-loving imbecile you actually are.
