Anyone who’s spent anytime on Facebook, Twitter or, more recently, the GoogleWave beta, knows we are BIG social media nerds. Dubai is full of ‘em and we love them all (well, most of them). Since the launch of Barasti Big Deal, I insisted on giving Dubai’s online community a chance to join in and win. Then I hit upon the idea of opening it up to a broader spectrum, say, the rest of the world.
With that in mind, we have got two chances for you online ‘types’ to win.
BARASTI BIG DEAL “FACEBOOK MONDAY”
All day Monday on Dubai 92 we’re giving people one more chance to join the Dubai 92 Facebook Fan Page (click to visit). Anyone who joins before Monday evening will be in the draw for a place in the final of the Barasti Big Deal on Saturday 31st October, where all 52 winners will stand in a line and minutes later 30 will be chosen randomly to come to New York City with Geordiebird and me for a week. Click the link and join the group. It’s free, it’s fun and we’re always posting plenty on there. We’ll announce the winner on Tuesday’s breakfast show, as well as simultaneously on Facebook & Twitter.

BARASTI BIG DEAL “TWITTER TUESDAY”
This Tuesday (yes… Tuesday! I know I made a bit of a booboo on this video but I thought the subtitles and annotations covered it up!) we’re launching TWITTER TUESDAY. All you need to do is add the #BarastiBigDeal hashtag to all your tweets on Tuesday and you’re in the draw. We’ll announce the winner on Wednesday’s breakfast show, as well as simultaneously on Facebook & Twitter.
Oh, and remember… The winner doesn’t go into the final. The winner (or ‘Twinner’!) skips the final and gets guaranteed return flights to New York with us, free accommodation at the Sheraton Towers Hotel in Manhattan, all the (amazing) entertainment we’ve got lined-up for the winners in New York and a shot at winning the all inclusive trip for two to the W Resort in The Maldives and a year’s free food and drink in Barasti!
One more thing. This competition isn’t open to UAE residents only. It’s open to anyone in the world. As long as you’re on Twitter and use the #BarastiBigDeal hashtag on all your tweets, you could win. We’ll fly you from wherever you are in the world to New York, on us!

So there you go. We reckon this is the biggest and probably first radio/social media competition (definitely in the UAE). It costs you nothing to take part.
