Mini Concert Mondays, September 6th, 2010

Hello and welcome to the 6th Mini Concert Mondays at Midday.

Having just come back from this year’s Reading Festival, I decided that this week’s line-up, should be Reading inspired.

So this week, we have Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Arcade Fire, all live at the Reading Festival.

We start off with Nirvana, live at the Reading festival on August 30th, 1992, with Smells like teen spirit:

Next up, Pearl Jam, 14 years later, on August 28th, 2006, live at the Reading festival, with Alive.

And finally, this year’s Reading Festival stars, Arcade Fire.
They were without a doubt, the best live band from this year’s festival.
Here they are, live on August 28th, 2010, with Ready To Start.

The video for their performance at Reading didn’t do them as much justice as they deserve, so I’ve also included their unstaged performance of Ready to Start, live at Madison Square Garden in New York, on August 5th, 2010.
Part of the UNSTAGED series, directed by Terry Gilliam.

That’s all for this week, tune in next Monday for more live music.

Have a great week.

Vedders voice is as spectacular as ever but here is evidence that Mad Mike Mcready (guitarist for Pearl Jam) is an under-rated genius! Just glorious! Oh, and Vedder owes me child-support…
