Welcome to your third Mini Concert Monday.

This week’s line up boasts, (in my humble opinion) three of the greatest bands and live acts of all time:
The Cure, U2 and Radiohead.

So we start with The Cure.
If I had to pick only one album to take with me to a desert island, then it would have to be their “Standing on a beach” album.

What would yours be?

The song I picked for your Mini Concert, is Lullaby, Live at Wembley Arena in 1989.

They are a band that I am yet to have the good fortune of watching live, so I picked a track from when they were literally at the height of their fame and game.

I couldn’t find a video of that particular gig for you, as mobile phones and Youtube were yet to be invented but I found you a great live video clip from “The Cure Trilogy” DVD.

Next up, a band known (and rightfully so) as one of the greatest live acts in the world: U2.
Last year I got to see them live, twice and I finally understood what all the fuss was about.
Their 360 tour was on a different level entirely and the song that I picked for your Mini Concert is “With or Without You” live at The Rosebowl in October, 2009.

And for today’s final act… my favourite of favourites: Radiohead.

They played at the Reading Festival last year (2009). A gig I would have attended, had my boss not made me fly back to do my show. Work is work after all and we all have our responsibilities (or so I keep telling myself, as I lick my wounds).
I literally went to the festival for a day and a half and flew home, tail in between legs, while the monsters of rock, entertained the lucky few who got to stay and watch them.
Bitter? Not me!
APPARENTLY it was a great gig.
