Second phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park inaugurated

The 200 mega-watt second phase of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has officially been inaugurated.

The phase will generate clean energy for 50,000 residents in Dubai, in addition to reducing 214,000 tonnes of carbon emissions a year.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, got the ground-breaking project underway on Monday at the largest single-site solar park in the world.

Paddy Padmanathan CEO of ACWA Power, the main developers of the next phase of the park, says Dubai’s lofty solar ambitions are driving the industry forward.
